Teresa Howard

Teresa Howard trained in acting, mime and devised physical theatre and has since written for stage and television but has most recently focussed on musical theatre.

She has recently written lyrics for two musicals with composer Steve Edis; ‘Possessed’, a Raphaelites Musical Play  performed at Camden People’s Theatre, with workshop performances at the Arts Theatre, London and Oxford Playhouse.  In 2017 she wrote a musical adaptation of Dodie Smith’s novel ‘I Capture the Castle’, which was premièred at Watford Palace Theatre and toured nationally. Many of the songs have since been performed in cabaret and musical theatre festivals on the UK and USA.

She is currently  working with composer Sara Llewellyn on an adaptation of William Nicholson’s youth novel ‘The Wind Singer’ which had a showcase (summer 2019) at BEAM2018 at Theatre Royal Stratford East. She also works as a dramaturge, most recently ‘Treasure Island’ at Watford Palace Theatre. She is director of Kelmscott Productions, a member of the boards of Mercury Musical Developments and leads the M.M.D.Writers’ LAB. She has received a number of writing residencies including a year at Winchester School of Art and with HHT in 2013
